5 years ago I was recovering from a knee replacement operation, so common these days, and had been home for a day when my niece Jazzy knocked on the door. So lovely to see her but odd because she lives about ½ hour from here. Apparently her mum was on her way to pick her up.
Her mum arrived carrying a large handbag on her shoulder. Of course we offered the obligatory cuppa and quickly popped the kettle on. When I turned around my mouth dropped open becasue she had a darling, miniscule black and white puppy snuggling in her arms. So tiny! Since Jazzy’s mum already had a beautiful Maltese papilon and I was so jealous. But surprise, surprise this little darling was apparently for me and from the same breeder. We named her Lolly. She was so tiny she fitted into my dressing gown pocket.
What a darling! Unfortunately the next day I lost her. I was frantic and searched the house hoping she would come if she heard me calling. Doubtful! We searched the yard, under the beds and couches for what seemed like hours. I was in tears because we still couldn’t find her. Suddenly my husband started to laugh he had spied her fast asleep in the handbag I had left on the floor. Phew!
I still can’t believe she is mine. Lolly has grown up to be a sweet natured, intelligent little girl who strength area is snuggling. I was encouraged to blog about her today because I found her asleep with her nose in my shoe. Wow that must smell wonderful Lolly! I’m sure you’ll agree Lolly is just adorable and you will hear more Lol stories.
