I have thumping headache
And I’ve had it all the day
And no amount of tablets will make it go away.
It’s pounding and it’s thumping
Look my eyes are red and sore
But I’ll be overdosing, if I take any more.
Why is it, can you tell me?
Why, if I need time to think,
Or have important meetings, why my head goes on the blink?
Or why my phone gets very loud
And TV screens are blurred?
Oh, that could be the tablets, too many’s bad I heard.
Oh good the coffee’s instant
So I don’t need to think,
And yay I’ve got a frozen meal defrosting in the sink.
That couch, it looks inviting
And Lolly wants a lift
My puppy sighs and snuggles in, my blessing and my gift.

The tablets now are working
I close my eyes to rest
And Lolly licks my fingers, to tell me I’m the best.
She wriggles round to snuggle
I rest my head at last
But “He who works” is standing there his face is all aghast.
“My goodness you look awful!
And gosh your eyes are red!”
He slowly walks me down the hall to put me in my bed.
So life is really better
If you just remember this
That tablets are quite handy and your partner needs a kiss.
And frozen meals can save your life
And instant coffee too
But best of all your puppy’s love will always pull you through.
